My Work
With influences from artists like Lauren Marx, Dolly Drori, and Isabel Burke, I am fascinated by absurdity, whimsy, fairy tales, and comedy. I work digitally to make it easier to work remotely and have access to rich and vibrant colors that can’t be achieved as easily in traditional mediums.
I like to use ideas of playfulness as a common element in my work because of the lighthearted aesthetic and positive reaction it creates, and I frequently use floral and animal symbols as a way to include deeper meanings within my illustrations.
I am currently interested in creating children's books or concept art for children's media, such as movies, TV shows, magazines, etc.
About Me
My name is Beth Jacks, and I am a young artist with a passion for illustration. I am a graduate of Jacksonville University with a BFA in Illustration and minor in Visual Design.
I've recently completed an internship with the St. Mary’s, Georgia-based animation company Pigmental Studios, where I focused on the restoration of old children's books and character designing in future children's shows, while also working as an artist-in-residence at UF Health Jacksonville, where I work on bedside art projects with patients. I am focused on bringing joy to children and adults alike, alleviating the stressors of our everyday lives and instead creating a sense of comfort through art.
